What We’re Building Behind the Scenes
At Lotus of Lakota Birthing Sanctuary, there’s a lot happening quietly — long before our doors officially open.
Behind the scenes, we are laying the kind of foundation that can’t be rushed: one built on safety, intention, and deep respect for birthing people and their families.
This season has been about preparation. That means carefully reviewing state regulations, developing clear policies and procedures, and ensuring that every aspect of care — from prenatal visits to emergency readiness — is thoughtfully planned. We believe families deserve a space where care is not only holistic and nurturing, but also organized, compliant, and grounded in best practices.
We are also exploring physical spaces that can truly support our vision: a sanctuary that feels calm, welcoming, and rooted in community, while meeting the practical needs of high-quality maternity care. Choosing the right location is not just about a building — it’s about access, safety, and long-term sustainability.
This work isn’t always visible, but it matters. Thoughtful preparation allows us to open with confidence, clarity, and integrity. It allows us to build trust with families, providers, and the wider community from the very beginning.
Lotus of Lakota is being created with intention at every step. We’re grateful for the patience, encouragement, and support we’ve received as we continue this journey — and we look forward to sharing more as things unfold.
With gratitude,
Chevonne Tingle
